Sightseeing Tour

A half-day sightseeing tour the Historical Park near Varna is planned in the Conference program.

This is an independent event. The price is 40 € (attendance ticket and transport). If you are interested to attend, please be prepared to pay in cash at the Registration desk.

Historical Park is a cultural and educational attraction located near Varna. It is designed as an interactive, open-air “time travel” experience that spans over 10,000 years of history.

The Concept: 6 Eras of History

The park is divided into several zones, each a life-sized, authentic reconstruction of a specific historical period in the Balkans:

  • Prehistory: Neolithic and Chalcolithic settlements (6,000 – 3,000 BC).
  • Thracian Period: Reconstructions of royal palaces and tombs.
  • Roman Era: Including a Roman theater and villas.
  • Middle Ages: Dedicated zones for the Proto-Bulgarians, Slavs, and the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdoms, featuring fortresses and royal palaces.
Key Activities & Attractions

Beyond just walking through the ruins, the park emphasizes “living history”:

  • Interactive Experiences: Archery, horse riding, and medieval duels.
  • Crafts & Culture: Ancient coin minting, ritual wine drinking, and wearing authentic historical costumes for photos.
  • Events: Large-scale historical reenactments, festivals (like the “Spartacus” uprising reenactment), and art competitions.
  • Nature: Boat trips on the lake and visits to an authentic food farm that uses ancient pesticide-free growing methods.
